The result of the eighteen DHS reports showed a pooled prevalence of adolescent pregnancy of 20.9% (95%CI: 17.4, 24.3). Also, using the high-quality score studies, the prevalence of adolescent pregnancy in Africa was 20.8% (95%CI: 17.3, 24.4) and it was 16.3% (95%CI: 13.6, 18.9) for low quality score studies. However, much as teenage pregnancy has attracted researchers, especially foreign researchers, the readiness of the community in preventing and responding to the phenomenon in a constructive way is poorly explored. This study was therefore initiated to cover this gap by examining the readiness of the community in addressing teenage pregnancy.
