Sergels Torg is a large square in the heart of modern Stockholm, created during the modernization of the city center in the mid 20th century. It's a drab area, to be honest, and stands in stark contrast with the charm of the Old Town. Sergels Torg in English is Sergel’s Square named after an 18th century Swedish sculptor. This sunken public square is right next to the Kulturhuset. It is easily recognizable by the triangular patterns on the ground of the square. The square is connected to an underground mall and the T-Centralen metro station.

There is an ellipse shaped fountain in the square with an interesting "glass" obelisk in its centre and a variety of eateries nearby. Sergels torg (under planeringen även Sveaplatsen) är ett torg mitt i centrala Stockholm.Torget har fått sitt namn efter bildhuggaren Johan Tobias Sergel.Det nuvarande torgets nedre del, som i folkmun kallas "Plattan", ligger ungefär 10 meter under den gamla bebyggelsens marknivå, som låg i jämnhöjd med Malmskillnadsbron över Hamngatan.
